Rita is on the front line. She’s a nurse that I had the pleasure of working with for 6 years at Baptist Memorial Hospital Radiation Oncology department located at 55 Humphreys Blvd Suite 100 – Memphis, TN 38120. I saw first hand of Rita going above and beyond her job description, what was expected her to help any and every patient that walked through the door. It takes special, unique individuals to work in a Cancer Center and I feel and know that Rita Chenault embodies the uniqueness to be an example how anyone should deal with Cancer heads on. I’m reminded of a time when things were kind of crazy in Rita’s own life/family; she didn’t miss a beat if almost as if by her coming to work – it reminded her that things are not as bad as it seems because it could be worst. During loss of love ones, sick children, life just crazy, Rita picked herself up and was right there for every patient and family members that walked into the center. She gave encouraging words, fed them, purchase items once she was aware of a need or want. So I’m pleading, begging to please pick this awesome one who I consider family to be awarded a gift card. I wouldn’t be surprise if she end up spending it on the patients. That’s the type of person she is.
Do you know amazing people in your community that deserve recognition and appreciation for helping ease the challenges for someone battling cancer in the midst of the pandemic?
